What is Pimcore?
Pimcore is an open-source platform for data and experience management. In one system, it covers product information (PIM), master data (MDM), digital assets (DAM), content and digital commerce. One data record can serve many languages, countries and sales channels. You use only the parts you need.
Can Pimcore replace our current PIM or DAM system?
Yes. Pimcore can replace a stand-alone PIM, MDM or DAM system. It can also run next to your current system while you switch over step by step. We help you pick the approach with the lowest risk.
What does a Pimcore project with bbv look like?
We start with an assessment of 2 to 4 weeks: data sources, target data model, integrations, and a roadmap with prices. Then we build in 2-week steps, and each step ends with a demo. A first release usually goes live after 3 to 5 months. A standard team is one project manager, one solution architect, two developers and one tester.
Which systems do you connect Pimcore to?
ERP, CRM, e-commerce platforms, marketplaces, shop front ends, and print or PDF tools. We use the Pimcore APIs, or a separate integration layer when systems must stay independent.
How far can Pimcore be adapted to our processes?
Data models, attributes, workflows, user roles and interfaces are all configuration, no custom code needed. Where the standard setup is not enough, we build custom modules. We keep the Pimcore core untouched, so upgrades stay simple and cheap.
When is Pimcore not the right choice?
If you have a small, stable product range, one sales channel and few digital assets, a simpler tool costs less. Pimcore pays off when your data, your channels or your asset volume grow large. We tell you this in the assessment, before you invest.
